About Animals at Home (North Wilts) Ltd.

Hello, my name is Anneka, I have a BSc Hons Degree in Animal Behaviour and own/run Animals at Home (North Wilts) Limited. From an early age I always loved animals and have owned goldfish to horses with my menagerie now consisting of Badger, who benefits from lots of walks and being by my side all day (my crazy Springer Spaniel in the photo), two gerbils (Nightmare and Elm), a Bunny (Mars Bar) and four fish yet to be named!

During my degree I studied the behaviour of dogs housed in a rescue shelter. This coupled with working at Steeple Ashton Kennels and Cattery has increased my interest in companion animals, their behaviour, welfare and interactions with their owners. I saw the Animals at Home website and thought that this opportunity was perfect for me, and of course Badger.

A career with animals was my goal and this has shaped my life. I carried out voluntary work experience at the Isle of Wight Tiger Sanctuary and Newquay Zoo. I even went to British Columbia to study Orca Whales

I am fully insured, CRB checked and have undertaken training at Lawns Veterinary Practice, which involved correct animal handling, first aid and administration techniques for various medicine types, including insulin injections. So you can be completely assured I have your pets’ welfare as my highest priority and they will be in very safe hands.
